Yes, clearly that's your experience, but to extrapolate your judgement of the subset you know into a statement of everyone in the field? My training says that is not good science. Most people I know live in Australia - but would be a stretch for me to make a judgment about the whole world's living situation based on my experience. But possibly I come from a different field and am more pedantic about this. And therapists come from many fields so I don't think you can say therapists in general when you may be chatting about a particular type of therapist and modality. It is quite likely that the 'traumatic background' generalisation simplifies a myriad of backgrounds, motivations, professions and modalities in the 'therapist' group.
